I live in a world I do not understand. Why do we have an internet radio station called Jango? It almost sounds like a personal attack. But I did enjoy the Otis Redding “White Christmas” song; though I digress.Or is it that I’ve regressed? Anyway, with all the bible study tools available on the internet, with all the podcasts streaming and other internet geek stuff…why do we have so little faith? Can anybody help me?

We have so little faith because it’s so readily available. “I can log on to read my word I don’t have to go to a quiet place, I can just read it at work.. that’s all i really HAVE to do to be in the club right?” It’s this whole WWW generation we don’t call each other we e-mail.. if you don’t check your e-mail it’s not my fault i did my part. People can’t remeber how to look things up. Whats a Card Catalog? Encylo WHAT? There’s a Book other then the BIBLE to get information from??? If Google can’t answer it then who cares?? Like when you think about it Rev. … What if Paul and ‘em had the WEB or even CARS or a fruiggin Newspaper? Can You Imagine? Yo this world would be so different.. they would be saving like Millions.. Kingdom work to the fullest… Talk about revival..
But we don’t have to do that… let the misionaries save souls.. let the preacher Preach and the teachers teach.. I’ll just log on and read my bible.. at work.. cause thats ALL i HAVE to do to stay in the club right?…
Lazy Christians..
Neka, this is the test of faith. Yes, we are truly inundated with electronic stuff but it’s to make us better not worse. ‘Fast food’ bible reading is fine but how much are you absorbing reading at work? You still need time to reflect and meditate on God’s word. I look at it differently. I don’t know where to find the scripture, “Jesus wept” but I can go to my handy dandy on-line resource and find it. Sometimes I print it out, sometimes I write it down and read it when I go home. Even though there have been many many changes to our environment, God never changes and HE will always be there for us. So with all of the technology that we have been afforded to make our lives simpler, we use them as excuses not to spend that time with GOD. It’s about priorities and GOD will be will be waiting when we are redy.
I agree Ms. Cookie I wasn’t saying I think like that I was answering a question with a few open ended questions, not my actual view
I honestly think it gets very easy for us to just forward a e-mail to someone “Proving my Salvation” and then you get these If you love God Forward to 12 people e-mails.. and people send them… Well I say when was the last time the person who sent that e-mail to you and the person you going to send this to talked about God together.. When did you check what you read with another Saint. Have we Offered Christ to the Guy downstairs yet? Are we at least working on it.. Most times.. honestly. no, cause we get wrapped up in “our” stuff. We forget it has NOTHING to do with “us” it’s Kingdom Work. Next time I get one of those e-mails.. I’m going to talk directly to that person.. and Say.. “HEY Girl, How are things.. How’s Church? What’s on your prayer list? etc.” and Maybe we can Build up each other instead of mindlessly boasting our religion, while we neglect our relationships… You know?
