We funeralized a 2 year old baby today.  We greeted a grieving family and gave them some words of encouragement.  We read scripture and sang a hymn.  We served some food and covered some plates to take home.  But, it was a good day.  Why?  Because He lives!  Because this is the day that the Lord has made!  Because if you’re reading this, you’re still in the land of the living - and you still have the opportunity to serve a true and living God!  It was a good day.

  1. I agree Pastor today was a good day! I attended the funeral and can appreciate the message that you delivered. I do know the family and what I feel is sadder than the death of the baby is the fact that not only did most people didnt “get it”…. they didnt understand it, Because I did know the some of the family and some of the friends I can tell you they didnt understand it because they haven’t picked up that little black book. It totally went over their heads. I know for a fact they didnt know who or what you was talking about. I did take the time to explain your message to some. I look forward to visiting your church again. Keep delivering the Word!

  3. We get it when we get it. As a full-time chaplain at Children’s Hospital, I have baptized numerous babies who were about to take their last breath, and even those who had taken their last breath, all at the request of the parents. I have found that even as the “preacher” the official deliverer of the “good news” I’ve found it difficult to comprehend and have found no problem asking, “why?” It’s even scriptural to do so, read the book. — Rev.
