I love being a part of God’s family. There are so many blessings and benefits available to me as one of His own! My needs are met. And, I can even have the desires of my heart! Every time I think about the Love of God, it warms my heart. It’s cold outside. So, come on in!

When the church doors close…

It’s been a snowy, cold, icy couple of days and weather conditions have caused us to close the church doors temporarily - cancelling classes, rehearsals, and rescheduling appointments. Isn’t it good to know that even though the building may not be open, the people of God go can still sing God’s praises, pray, read His Word, and receive new revelation? Aren’t you glad that our God is with us wherever we may go?!!

IT WAS A GOOD DAY

We funeralized a 2 year old baby today. We greeted a grieving family and gave them some words of encouragement. We read scripture and sang a hymn. We served some food and covered some plates to take home. But, it was a good day. Why? Because He lives! Because this is the day that the Lord has made! Because if you’re reading this, you’re still in the land of the living - and you still have the opportunity to serve a true and living God! It was a good day.

THE NEW YEAR

Well let’s get to it! The new year brings great opportunity. But wait, why start something new? Why not get better with the old. Has anyone considered a “going back to the beginning” lifestyle? Perfect house, perfect working environment, perfect domestic relationship… Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to sow and reap without doing any work BUT to harvest. Do you get this? This is what the author intended. Can you handle the pressure and if not why? Hail to the Redskins!

In our weekly bible study, we are looking at the book of Ephesians. This past Tuesday, we noted that the Apostle Paul opens with a greeting and salutation in this epistle and his other letters. How encouraging it is that even though he is more times than not, writing from jail, a place of confinement; he manages to maintain a level of hospitality. Despite his circumstances, Paul’s letters are seasoned with grace. The question is…why don’t we have that same type of joy and excitement when we greet our brothers and sisters?

Ready or not, 2009 is upon us. Ready or not, a new president is about to take office. Ready or not, our children are growing up right before our eyes and the cost of college tuition is on the rise. Ready or not, some of us are approaching that age of retirement without enough in savings or a 401k to support our lifestyles. And…ready or not…Jesus is coming back for His Church! My question is…Are you READY or NOT?
